Art has always been a part of my life. As a child, my mom spent hours crafting hand-sewn ornaments, dolls, and dresses for my sisters and me. She encouraged me in my passion for the arts. I suspected I had a knack for art when in art class at school, my peers would dig through the trash to retrieve my discarded drawings and paintings. After high school, I went on to receive my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Illustration at the Ringling College of Art and Design. Since graduating, I have had my artwork published in a handful of books and magazines as well as reproduced on canvas by Oopsy Daisy/Greenbox. Over the years, my art has evolved more into an expression of who I am. A golden sunrise, a sky filled with cotton candy clouds or the way the glowing, sunlight dances on my walls in the late evenings...these everyday occurences, they never cease to amaze me. I gather inspiration from these routine happenings. The more I paint, the more I find myself appreciating the "little things". I've been known to suddenly pull off of a busy highway to snap a picture of an enchanting, fog-filled terrain as passer-bys are racing alongside my wavering car...my family can attest to this. While so many today are racing to the next big activity, I prefer not to fill up my schedule, but instead, I mostly like to take things slow and enjoy each day. Everyday is a blessing from God. Hang my paintings on your walls as a reminder to stop and enjoy the "little things". You know, the routine miracles that we are graced with each and everyday. Learning to appreciate these "little things" restores our prespective in the big picture. A picture full of child-like wonder and of a God that gives abundant blessings on a daily basis.
